Cumberland Village Bike Park 2018-2020

                       Vancouver Island BC

Earthwaves began a major configuration of the Cumberland Village Dirt Jump Park in 2018. First starting by rebuilding the Black Line along with some minor adjustments to the Blue line. In 2019 The Double Black Line was the focus, along with some minor changes to the Green Line.

The Park was  originally Built by Dream Wizards, who is mostly known for building mountain bike trails and freeride parks. The park was a major disappointment to BMX and MTB dirt jumpers alike, as it was never finished properly. Though the infrastructure of the park was good, the actual spacing, trajectory and riding surfaces of the park were simply not built by somebody who has devoted their life to the craft of building dirt jumps.

This park is a prime example of how providing a proper facility can lead to a major progression in the skill level of an entire community. There is now children age ten all the way up to adults in their fifties hitting the bigger jumps at the park.

In the two years since Earthwave has revitalized the park, the dirt jump community in Cumberland has flourished. There is a multitude of diversity at the park now with riders of all types including BMX racers, Freestyle BMX and MTB dirt jumpers of all ages.
